Telangana: Ex-Sirpur MLA Konappa resigns from BRS, join Congress

Hyderabad: Former Sirpur MLA Koneru Konappa on Wednesday, March 13, resigned from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) citing the party’s decision to align with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls as the reason for the call.

He said that the alliance decision was “deeply disappointing” as state BSP chief RS Praveen Kumar had personally insulted him and his cadre during the Assembly polls.

Konappa said that he would join the Congress on March 14, in the presence of minister Danasari Anasuya alias Seethakka. The MLA said that chief minister A Revanth Reddy in a recent meeting invited him to the party.

He also said that Revanth responded positively interms of solving issues in the Sirpur constituency.
