Ananya Reddy Makes Mahabubnagar Proud: Secures Third Rank in UPSC Civil Services Examination 2023

Mahabubnagar, Hyderabad, Telangana – Donuru Ananya Reddy, hailing from Mahabubnagar district, has emerged victorious in the Civil Services Examination 2023, clinching an outstanding third rank. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) unveiled the results on Tuesday, showering accolades on Ananya Reddy for her remarkable achievement in her very first attempt.

In an exclusive conversation, Ananya Reddy shared insights into her journey, revealing that apart from coaching for Anthropology optional in Hyderabad, she predominantly relied on self-preparation for the rigorous examination.

“Following the interview, I harbored hopes of securing a position in the final selection list, but clinching the third rank surpassed my expectations,” expressed a jubilant Ananya Reddy, an alumnus of Miranda House, Delhi University, where she pursued Geography.

Reflecting on her rigorous preparation routine, Ananya disclosed dedicating 12 to 14 hours per day to her studies in the lead-up to the examination. Her commitment and perseverance bore fruit, propelling her towards this significant milestone.

Ananya Reddy’s aspirations to serve society fueled her pursuit of a career in civil services. “Since childhood, I’ve harbored a desire to contribute meaningfully to society. Pursuing civil services was a natural choice for me. Furthermore, I am proud to be the first in my family to embark on this noble path,” shared Ananya Reddy, whose father is self-employed and mother, a homemaker.

The UPSC recommended a total of 1016 candidates for appointment to esteemed positions in the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service, and Central Services, Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’. While the commendable journey of 355 candidates remains provisional, the results have been made available on the official UPSC website (http://www.upsc.gov.in). Detailed marks of candidates will be accessible on the website within 15 days.

Ananya Reddy’s triumph not only exemplifies individual excellence but also serves as an inspiration for aspirants across the nation, especially those from smaller towns and rural areas, demonstrating that perseverance, dedication, and self-belief can indeed lead to extraordinary accomplishments.
