Stone Pelting
In response to a recent incident of stone pelting between two groups within the limits of the Market police station, the Karnataka Police have intensified security measures in parts of Belagavi city. The incident unfolded on Tuesday following a rally organized by a group of youths who were chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogans in the aftermath of the Pran Prathistha at Ayodhya on Monday.
According to the police report, the peaceful rally took an unfortunate turn when the group of youths suddenly found themselves under attack with stones. In a swift response, the targeted group retaliated, leading to a tense situation. Law enforcement authorities intervened promptly, resorting to a lathi charge to bring the situation under control.
