In a fervent plea to safeguard the environmental integrity of the region, Amjedullah Khan, the spokesperson for Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT), has called upon the Telangana Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy, to intervene and protect the Rukn-ud-Daula lake in Shivarampally village from the clutches of land grabbers.
The 104-acre lake, nestled in the serene vicinity of Shivrampally, is facing an imminent threat from encroachment by the land mafia. Khan voiced his concerns on a post shared on a micro-blogging platform, highlighting the perilous situation surrounding the lake’s existence.
Expressing dismay over the government’s inaction towards addressing the encroachment issue, Khan underscored the urgent need for decisive action to thwart the nefarious activities of the land grabbers. He emphasized that the systematic encroachment upon the lake poses a significant threat not only to the ecological balance but also to the livelihoods of local residents dependent on its resources.
During his visit to the area, Khan, accompanied by concerned local residents, personally inspected the deteriorating state of the lake. He pledged to escalate the matter to the relevant authorities and hinted at the possibility of seeking legal recourse if necessary, even contemplating approaching the High Court to ensure the protection and restoration of the water body.
