In a concerning turn of events, an AIMIM leader has been accused of assaulting an employee of the Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TSSPDCL). The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, has sparked outrage and demands for swift action from concerned parties.

According to reports, the altercation transpired when local staff members of TSSPDCL visited the residence of AIMIM corporator Mehfarah in SRT Colony, Yakutpura, to collect a pending electricity bill spanning close to a year. Allegedly, during the interaction, the corporator’s brother, identified as Shafath Ali, engaged in a heated argument with the TSSPDCL personnel, ultimately resulting in a physical altercation.

Ramesh Babu, the TSSPDCL lineman cum bill collector, lodged a formal complaint regarding the incident at the Madannapet police station. As a result, a case has been registered under Section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and Section 427 (mischief causing damage) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Authorities have initiated an investigation into the matter.

The incident has drawn condemnation from various quarters, with calls for stringent action against the accused. TSSPDCL unions have been particularly vocal, demanding the immediate arrest of the individuals involved.
