Parental Opposition

Aamir Khan’s parents initially opposed his desire to pursue a career in acting or the entertainment industry due to its perceived volatility. His father had experienced financial difficulties resulting from the failure of their family’s production company, leading them to prefer that he become an engineer or doctor. Despite their reservations, Aamir remained steadfast in his pursuit of acting.

Aamir Khan made his first appearance at the age of 7 in his uncle Nassir Hussain’s film Yaadon Ki Baraat. During the shooting of PK, Aamir Khan was tasked with playing a character who consumed a large amount of paan, staining his lips. To achieve this, Khan consumed around 100 paans per day, having a fresh paan after every take and consuming 10-15 paans before shooting to achieve the desired lip colour.
