Salman Khan House Firing: Mumbai Police Recover Gun and Cartridges

Vicky Gupta, 24, and Sagar Pal, 21, the shooters fired at Salman Khan’s Bandra Galaxy Apartment early on April 14, were taken into custody last week in Gujarat. Police said that they were getting orders from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who was imprisoned, and his brother Anmol.

Two pistols were recovered along with three magazines and thirteen cartridges from the Tapi river in Surat on Tuesday. A video was shared by the police in which a diver is seen coming out of the river holding a magazine and one of the pistols. Police alleged that Gupta and Pal were each handed a gun to carry out the shooting, even though only one gun was utilised. They claimed that when Gupta was riding the motorcycle they were on, Pal fired the gun.

Police reports claim that the gunmen were paid Rs.4 lakh to carry out the attack with the intention of intimidating the Bollywood actor rather than hurting him. The two also did a “recce” of Salman’s Panvel farmhouse prior to the attack. The defendant bought several SIM cards and regularly switched them between different places.

A case of attempt to murder and criminal intimidation has been filed by the Mumbai Crime Branch. The police are also set to record Salman Khan’s statement as a witness in the case.
