Recently, reports emerged that a streaming giant had acquired the streaming rights for Rajinikanth’s Coolie for Rs 120 crore. Since Rajini and Thalapathy Vijay are seen as rivals by their fans, a fresh rumour has surfaced about Jana Nayagan. A section of the Tamil media has stated that Jana Nayagan’s OTT rights have fetched Rs 121 crore.
Meanwhile, reports have also claimed that the OTT rights of Thug Life (the Kamal Haasan-Mani Ratnam movie) have fetched an even higher price. The film is slated to head to theatres on June 5th, 2025.
Most of the figures stated about OTT deals are purely speculative. Some of the amounts might be correct. But many of the numbers bandied about are just figments of imagination.
Coolie is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and co-stars Nagarjuna-Upendra duo. Jana Nayagan is Vijay’s last movie and will head to theatres on January 9th, 2026.
