
Indian Foreign Service (IFS) Officer Nidhi Tewari has been roped in as the private secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Personnel Ministry said in an order said Sunday.
Who is Nidhi Tewari?
A 2014-batch IFS officer, Tewari was appointed as an under secretary in the PMO in November 2022, only to be re-designated as deputy secretary in January 2023.
She served as the Deputy Secretary at the office until being elevated to the post of Personal Secretary now.

Her appointment as the PM’s personal secretary was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, as per a memorandum issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on March 29, with immediate effect.
