Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, a couple known for keeping things private, recently became part of a light-hearted story from their time in New Zealand. Cricketer Jemimah Rodrigues shared that the pair were once asked to leave a cafe after a conversation with her and Smriti Mandhana went on much longer than expected. She revealed the incident during her appearance on The Bombay Journey on Mashable India’s YouTube channel.

Rodrigues explained that it all began when she and Mandhana asked Virat if they could talk to him about batting. What started as a simple discussion soon turned into an extended chat at the cafe in the hotel where both teams were staying. Anushka joined them as well, and the group quickly lost track of time. “It felt like a few long-lost friends who met and spoke,” Rodrigues recalled, highlighting how natural the interaction felt.

The conversation stretched to more than four hours, leaving the cafe staff with no choice but to ask them to leave. Rodrigues laughed as she remembered the incident, saying, “The only reason we stopped was because the café staff kicked us out.” She also noted that while the first part of the talk was focused on cricket, it later moved to life experiences and casual stories.

Rodrigues said one of the most memorable moments was hearing Virat encourage her and Mandhana. He told them, “You both have the power to change women’s cricket, and I can see that happening.” For her, those words left a lasting impact.

Meanwhile, Virat and Anushka, who met in year 2013 and married in Italy in 2017, are now raising their two children, daughter Vamika and son Akaay, while continuing to guard their personal life closely.
