Recently, speaking at a summit, Vijay Deverakonda opined that two superstars like Shah Rukh Khan and Allu Arjun coming together for a movie will empower them to take on the global giants. “SRK’s Jawan (and Pathaan) made Rs 1000 Cr or whatever is the amount. Allu Arjun anna’s Pushpa 2: The Rule also entered that big league. Now imagine what will happen if they both unite for a film,” the Kingdom actor remarked.
Vijay’s thinking is wishful and slightly sensational, nothing else. SRK and Bunny doing a two-hero movie will be a huge grosser in India but it won’t necessarily become an international hit. RRR was praised by Hollywood stalwarts like James Cameron not because they are familiar with Jr NTR and Ram Charan or because they are among the biggest superstars in the country. They saw in RRR’s action choreography a certain inventiveness, in its aesthetics a certain sincerity.
Commenting on Vijay’s remarks, an X user named Prabhudata Durgaprasad wrote, “His words are illogical. The world needs good quality content, story-telling, VFX, innovative stories, not a collaboration between SRK and Allu Arjun. The audience in other countries are not like the Indian audience.”
