The new Motorola Razr Ultra 2025 is here, and it’s a pretty nice upgrade over the Razr Plus from last year (which was known as the “Ultra” outside of North America). This year it finally sports the very latest and greatest chipset from Qualcomm – Snapdragon 8 Elite.
This year, the Motorola Razr Ultra 2025 sports a 7-inch foldable AMOLED display. This has a resolution of 2912×1224. That’s slightly more than FHD+ but not quite QHD+. It still provides a very pixel-dense display while also saving on battery life. The Razr Ultra 2025 does sport 464 pixels per inch. This is an LTPO display that can dynamically change its refresh from 165Hz down to 1Hz.
The front display, or cover display, is still a 4-inch display with a resolution of 1272×1080. So it’s just barely larger than a square. This display does allow you to run any Android app that you’d like, which is a huge differentiator from the Galaxy Z Flip series.
Finally, a truly Flagship Razr with almost no compromises
In previous years, there’s always been some sort of compromise with the Razr. The last couple of years, it was a slightly older chipset. With it being the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 last year, not necessarily “older,” but it wasn’t faster or better than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. And the year before it was the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, which was older. Now, we have the latest and greatest chipset in the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
Motorola cooked this year with the Razr Ultra, including 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage (there’s a 1TB model available from Motorola directly). It also comes in some pretty fun colors, including:
- PANTONE Rio Red
- PANTONE Scarab
- PANTONE Mountain Trail
- PANTON Cabaret
These fun colors are available in three different materials, too. There’s Alcantara for the Scarab color, wood for the Mountain Trail, and vegan leather for the Rio Red and Cabaret.
Motorola Razr Ultra 2025 will be available for $1,299, with pre-orders starting on May 7. It will start shipping in the US on May 15.
