About six years ago, Dil Raju’s Sri Venkateswara Creations announced a film titled ICON with Allu Arjun in the lead. The project was not shelved until three years ago. With Bunny turning super-busy with Pushpa 2 and other commitments, Dil Raju called off the project.

What happened to its storyline/script? Director Venu Sriram was interested to answer the same at an event on Wednesday but producer Dil Raju didn’t let him do so. He, however, refuted the rumour that Nithiin’s Thammudu is a tweaked version of ICON. “The two stories are different from each other,” Venu Sriram and Dil Raju said.

Venu Sriram hoped that ICON would be revived after Pawan Kalyan’s Vakeel Saab became a hit in 2021. He did bide his time. He didn’t take up a fresh project for too long. He devoted all his energies to Thammudu only after ICON was cancelled. Venu Sriram has previously directed Oh My Friend! and MCA as well.

Allu Arjun is slated to team up with Atlee next. He will also do a movie under the direction of Sandeep Reddy Vanga. His movie with Trivikram has been transferred to Jr NTR.
