Shah Rukh Khan’s wife, producer-designer Gauri Khan, penned a note for the actor as he received his first-ever National Award. King Khan is in Delhi currently after winning the Best Actor award for his performance in Jawan. President Draupadi Murmu handed him the award amid cheers from the audience.

Gauri shared a photo of SRK, taken minutes before the ceremony and praised him for his years of hard work. In the picture, the actor looked dashing as he striked a pose. Praising her husband, she wrote, “What a journey it’s been @iamsrk. Congratulations on winning the National Award!!! So deserving… it’s a result of your years of hardwork and dedication. Now I’m designing a special mantle for this award.” This marked his first National Film Award after having worked in the industry for three decades.

SRK’s fans took to the comment section to praise the actor. Celebrities such as Namrata Shirodkar, Bhavana Pandey and Sangeeta Bijlani also congratulated SRK. Namrata wrote, “Many many congratulations Gauri.”

For the ceremony, he wore a classic black bandhgala paired with matching tailored trousers. The jacket featured a Nehru collar and was styled with a crisp white pocket square.

Vikrant Massey shared the Best Actor award with SRK at the National Film Awards. He won it for the film 12th Fail. 12th Fail also won the Best Feature Film Award.
