Vanguard to set up GCC in Hyderabad; to hire 2,300 employees

Vanguard, a US-based investment management company, has announced that it will set up a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad.

The company, which manages global assets worth $10 trillion and serves more than 50 million investors, will formally open its Hyderabad office later this year. It will house 2,300 employees over the next four years.

The decision has been taken at a meeting between the company’s delegation, led by its CEO Salim Ramji, and Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and top officials here.

Hire engineers

The Vanguard leaders said the company would immediately look to hire engineers with a special focus on artificial intelligence, data analytics, and mobile engineering for its Hyderabad facility.

“Vanguard’s Office in India is a significant milestone in its global expansion, which builds on a decade of partnership with third-party partners to enable it to directly access talent and increase the proportion of technology crew in its global workforce,” a Government statement said here on Monday.

“The Hyderabad office would become an innovation hub that will support IT mission and goals, and drive AI strategy, unlock potential of our data and analytics, and support the firms’s mobile-first initiatives,” it said.
