Rajasthan Royals’ teenage sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi once again showcased his talent, lighting up the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru with a breathtaking 190 off just 90 deliveries during an India Under-19 camp match. At just 14 years of age, the young opener continues to make headlines with each outing, reinforcing his reputation as one of India’s most exciting future prospects.
This latest innings adds to an already glittering résumé for the prodigious batter, who burst into the limelight during the IPL 2025 season. Earlier this year, Suryavanshi created history by becoming the youngest player to score a century in men’s T20 cricket. His whirlwind 101 off 38 balls against Gujarat Titans included a blistering 35-ball century, the second-fastest in IPL history.

His IPL debut itself was born out of an unexpected opportunity. Called in to replace an injured Sanju Samson, Suryavanshi made an immediate impact in his maiden appearance against the Lucknow Super Giants. Displaying fearlessness beyond his years, he launched his very first ball in the IPL, bowled by Shardul Thakur, over the ropes for six. He went on to contribute a lively 34 off 20 balls in that match.
Over the course of the season, the young left-hander accumulated 252 runs in seven matches, often providing his team with explosive starts at the top of the order. His fairytale journey to the IPL began in astonishing fashion when he was acquired by the Rajasthan Royals for Rs 1.1 crore at the 2025 auction, at just 13 years old, becoming the youngest player ever to sign an IPL contract.
Suryavanshi’s prowess is not limited to the T20 format. He hammered a scintillating 58-ball century in a four-day encounter against Australia U-19 and played a pivotal role in India’s path to the final of the 2024 ACC U-19 Asia Cup. His appetite for big scores has been evident since his early days, most notably when he compiled an unbeaten 332 in the prestigious Randhir Verma Tournament, a staggering triple century that captured the imagination of the junior cricket circuit.
With every innings, Vaibhav Suryavanshi continues to blur the lines between prodigy and professional. Whether it’s the IPL stage or youth internationals, the 14-year-old appears to be in a league of his own, rewriting records while still in his early teens.
