UltraTech adds fresh capacity in MP, WB, Maharashtra

UltraTech Cement, an Aditya Birla Group company, has commissioned two cement mills — one with a capacity of 3.35 mtpa and the other with a capacity of 2.7 mtpa — at its existing plant at Maihar in Madhya Pradesh. The second grinding mill is expected to be commissioned in the June quarter.

The company has completed the brownfield expansion of a grinding unit at Dhule in Maharashtra with a capacity of 1.2 mtpa. It has also commissioned the brownfield expansion of a grinding unit of 0.60 mtpa at Durgapur in West Bengal.

UltraTech has inaugurated a new bulk terminal in Lucknow with a capacity of 1.8 mtpa. This is the company’s first bulk terminal in Uttar Pradesh.

Consequent to fresh capacity additions, the company’s total domestic grey cement manufacturing capacity has increased to 183.36 mtpa. Along with its overseas capacity of 5.4 mtpa, the company’s global capacity stands at 188.76 mtpa.
