UAE Golden Visa: Lifetime Residency for Indians Without Property

UAE Golden Visa

Dubai/Hyderabad, July 7: In a major development for Indian professionals and investors, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has launched a nomination-based Golden Visa scheme that grants lifetime residency without requiring massive real estate or business investments. The new visa policy, currently in its pilot phase, marks a shift from traditional eligibility norms and opens doors for a broader segment of skilled individuals.

According to reports by PTI, eligible Indian nationals can now secure the UAE’s coveted Golden Visa by paying a fixed fee of AED 1,00,000 (approximately ₹23.30 lakh), with no mandatory requirement to purchase property or invest millions in a business.

How is it different from previous Golden Visa options?

Previously, Indians seeking the UAE Golden Visa had to invest at least AED 2 million (about ₹4.66 crore) in property or meet stringent business investment criteria. However, the nomination-based Golden Visa is not tied to real estate—which means even if property is sold, the visa remains valid.

Rayad Kamal Ayub, Managing Director of Rayad Group, which has been appointed to lead the pilot rollout in India, confirmed that a comprehensive background verification process is involved. This includes:

  • Criminal record checks

  • Anti-money laundering screening

  • Social media evaluation

  • Assessment of contribution potential to UAE society (via culture, finance, startups, sciences, etc.)

Application Process:

Indians interested in the new visa can apply through:

  • One Vasco visa concierge centers in India and Bangladesh

  • Rayad Group’s registered offices

  • Online portals (no physical presence in Dubai required for pre-approval)

Who Can Apply?

The program is open to:

  • Skilled professionals

  • Entrepreneurs

  • Academicians

  • Artists

  • Tech innovators

  • Cultural ambassadors
And other individuals deemed capable of contributing positively to the UAE’s economy or society.

Benefits of the Nomination-Based Visa:

  • Lifetime Residency in the UAE

  • Bring your family under the same visa

  • Start or run a business or take up employment without a separate work permit

  • No dependency on property ownership or investment continuation

  • Faster application and approval process

Global Rollout Plan:

The UAE government has selected India and Bangladesh for the initial testing phase. However, the scheme will soon be extended to China and other CEPA (Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement) partner countries as part of the wider expansion.

Final Approval Process:

While applicants can apply locally, all applications undergo centralized review by UAE authorities, who will make the final decision on issuing the Golden Visa.
