
Two men were stabbed to death allegedly after a quarrel in Central Delhi’s Nabi Karim area on Saturday afternoon, said police, adding that the suspect, an auto-rickshaw driver, has been arrested. While the deceased have been identified as Ankit, 33, who worked as a welder, and Rahul, 32, who had a past criminal record; the accused has been identified as Puneet, 30.
In a statement, police said that Puneet is married and has two daughters. “He had been staying separately from his wife for over a year. He was angry with Ankit for allegedly having an affair with his wife. The tension escalated today and ended in violence,” an officer said.
Rahul, who was Ankit’s neighbour, was accompanying him at the time of the incident. “He got injured in the fight and succumbed to the injuries,” the officer added.
