A two-year-old girl was killed after she was allegedly hit by a car, which was reportedly being driven by the 15-year-old son of a neighbour, in Delhi’s Nabi Karim area.

“Yesterday, at around 6:15 pm, information was received at the Nabi Karim Police Station regarding a two-year-old girl who was injured in a road accident at Ram Nagar, Paharganj, and admitted to the hospital. The child succumbed to her injuries during treatment,” said Harsha Vardhan, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central).

According to a police officer, the car is owned by the neighbour of the deceased toddler’s family, Pankaj Agarwal, who is a businessman. His son took the car out for a drive and lost control.

The officer said a case has been registered under sections 281 and 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against Agrawal.
