Syed Shahed, son of the late and well-known rowdy sheeter Syed Wahed Pahelwan, was reportedly involved in the garment business. Police said Shahed had an ongoing personal rivalry with the accused Sameer Khan, which eventually turned fatal.

According to K Suresh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Balanagar zone, the accused lured Shahed to an open ground located in Dev Istana Homes, Prakash Nagar, under the pretext of a drinking session on June 29.

Sajid stabbed Shahed in the throat with a broken liquor bottle while Munna smashed his head with a stone, leading to his death on the spot,” the DCP said during a press briefing.

During the investigation, police seized wine bottles, blood-stained stones, blood-soaked clothes, and the mobile phones of the accused, which served as critical evidence in linking the trio to the crime.

The brutal murder of Syed Shahed has once again brought attention to old gang rivalries in Hyderabad, especially those tied to the legacy of his father, Syed Wahed Pahelwan, who had a notorious reputation in the city’s underworld.

All three accused are currently in judicial custody as further investigation continues.
