These Galaxy S26 Ultra leaks are pretty disappointing

Summary: Some new leaks about the Galaxy S26 Ultra have just popped up, and it looks like this phone won’t be much different from the Galaxy S25 Ultra. These leaks deal with the phone’s camera, charging, and S Pen.

The Galaxy S25 hype has calmed, and this means that it’s time to look toward the next generation. We’re getting news (some good, some bad) about the Galaxy S26 series with its Ultra model as the main focus.

News and leaks about this phone will increase as time goes on, but we’re already getting enough information to paint a picture of how this device will be. Samsung has been basically delivering the same smartphone experience year after year. Seriously, when was the last time Samsung captivated audiences with its latest Galaxy S phones?

New leaks suggest that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will be a minor upgrade

Using the word “upgrade” is saying a bit much, as early reports hint at Samsung delivering much the same experience as last year. The Galaxy S25 was a disappointing upgrade, as was the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S23, and so on. So, we’re not holding our breath for the Galaxy S26 phones.

We just got a few details about the Galaxy S26 Ultra from PandaFlash on X. Firstly, it looks like the Galaxy S26 Ultra will come with a 200MP camera. Does that sound familiar? Yes. The Galaxy S25 Ultra also has a 200MP camera. Samsung will even use the same HP2 sensor. The only difference will be that Samsung will use “Updated Pixels and a New Lens.”

Next up, it looks like Samsung will take inspiration from all other Android manufacturers and skip adding magnetic rings to its phone. This means that you won’t be able to use any MagSafe accessories unless you shell out for a case. That’s pretty frustrating, as the addition of MagSafe continues to be a weapon in Apple’s toolbelt.

Lastly, it looks like Samsung won’t retire the S Pen next year. We’ve heard reports of the company ditching the iconic S Pen in a future model. While we don’t know when that will happen, we know that it will stick around for at least one more year.

You’ll want to take this news with a grain of salt, as we’re still dealing with early information. More details will come out as time goes on, so stay tuned.
