Motorola and Verizon have delayed the release of the Razr 2025, pushing back its launch date and forcing customers to wait a little bit longer before they can purchase the new phone. When Motorola announced the new 2025 Razr lineup earlier this month, the company said that the phones would be launching on May 15. That was initially the case with carriers in the US, including Verizon. However, Verizon and Motorola have now confirmed that the phone launch will take place at a later date.
The Motorola Razr 2025 comes in three different models. This includes the Razr 2025, the Razr Plus 2025, and the Razr Ultra 2025. All of which were supposed to be available at Verizon last Thursday. Verizon also initially listed the May 15 date in its blog post about carrying the phone.
Verizon has delayed the Motorola Razr 2025 until May 22
If you’re looking to get your hands on one of the three new Razr phones at Verizon, you’ll have to wait until this coming Thursday, May 22. Motorola confirmed the delay in a statement to 9To5Google. Verizon, for its part, has also updated its original blog post with the new launch date. Beyond this, there’s no information available as to the reason for the delay.
Motorola does state that Verizon is still carrying the phone. With regard to the delay, however, it merely says the timeline of the launch was adjusted so that Verizon could “provide the best possible launch experience for their customers.”
While that non-answer probably isn’t what customers want to hear, it’s something. And if nothing else, it’s a confirmation that the phone is still on the way. It was just pushed back one week.
The phone will be available online and in stores at Verizon and its MVNOs
Although the launch date has changed, where you can buy the phone has not. Verizon confirms that it will be selling the new Razr 2025 lineup at its own stores. Customers will be able to pick up the phone online and in physical Verizon stores, so you can walk out with it or have it delivered. Whatever strikes your fancy. The phone will also be coming to Visible, Straight Talk, and Total Wireless, and will be available in stores and online at these carriers as well.
