Tendulkar to Dhawan, ex-Indian cricketers hail Army after Operation Sindoor

Former Team India cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, Harbhajan Singh and Shikhar Dhawan heaped praise on the Indian Army for tasting success in the execution of `Operation Sindoor`.

The Indian armed forces, in the early hours of Wednesday, launched precision missile strikes on nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, including the strongholds of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba in Muridke, in the wake of the horrific Pahalgam terrorist attack in South Kashmir on April 22.

On the success of the mission, legendary Team India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar hailed the Indian Armed forces by saying, “We`re One Team! Jai Hind”.

Former India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh also appreciated the Indian Army for Operation Sindoor.

“Jai Hind. #OperationSindoor is Bharat`s response to the brutal killing of our innocent brothers in Pahalgam,” Harbhajan Singh wrote on X.

Former Team India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, too, hailed the successful mission, “Operation Sindoor”. Taking to X:

The strength of our nation lies in the unity of its people and in our shared resolve to protect what is right.

We stand together, not just as a country, but as one team, against every force that threatens peace.

There can be no room for terrorism in a world that seeks harmony.…

The artillery fire came hours after India launched Operation Sindoor, a series of precision strikes targeting nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and PoJK.

“A little while ago, the Indian Armed Forces launched `Operation Sindoor`, hitting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir from where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed,” said an official statement from the Ministry of Defence.

Altogether, nine sites were targeted.

“Our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in the selection of targets and method of execution,” the statement added.

According to the Ministry, these steps were taken in response to the “barbaric” Pahalgam terrorist attack, in which 25 Indians and one Nepali citizen were killed. The government reiterated its commitment to hold those responsible accountable.

A detailed briefing on `Operation Sindoor` will be held later today, the Ministry added.

Meanwhile, in a post on X, the Indian Army said: “Justice is served. Jai Hind!”. In an earlier post, the Army had written: “Ready to strike, trained to win.”
