The box office collections of Teja Sajja’s latest movie Mirai paints a rosy picture. The fantasy adventure performed well on its first three days, earning an estimated Rs 44.25 crore (net) at the Indian box office. The film posted 17.5 crore each on Friday and Saturday respectively. With Sunday being a holiday and weekend, the sailing was very smooth for Mirai. And considering there’s no other film for competition, the Karthik Ghattamaneni directorial is enjoying a good run in theatres.

Director sets the record straight

When Mirai was in the making, it was reported that Nidhhi Agerwal shot for a special song. But the filmmakers did not confirm her presence and as a result, the buzz about the song died down gradually. But when asked about Nidhhi Agerwal’s special number during the film’s success meet, the director acknowledged that it was indeed shot. He however clarified that the peppy track was meant to be used in the second installment of Mirai. Also, the song Vibe Undi went missing from the film, and the director revealed the team omitted the song as they felt it could disturb the narrative. “We are thrilled with all the love that’s coming, it’s been truly overwhelming,” revealed Karthik. In the USA too, Mirai has been progressing steadily! The film’s collections are at $1.3 million and is set to touch another milestone soon.

TFI stars lauds Mirai

Mirai has been receiving a lot of love not just from the audiences but also from the film fraternity! Stars like Ravi Teja, Nani and Anil Ravipudi among others who have lavished praise on the Teja Sajja-starrer. Ram Gopal Varma too lauded Mirai for its impressive VFX, technical brilliance and artistes’ performances. On the whole, the film stood out for its visual grandeur, mythological depth, and strong performances by the lead cast.
