Tamannaah Bhatia issues clarification after liking Deepika Padukone`s video

Actress Tamannaah Bhatia recently liked a video from her Instagram account that praised Deepika Padukone. The gesture was perceived as Tamannaah`s subtle way of showing support to Deepika amid the ongoing controversy with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga over her exit from his film Spirit.

The video focused on Deepika Padukone and highlighted issues that women often stand against, including the gender pay gap, working overtime, unprofessionalism, and misogyny.

The clip featured a throwback moment where Deepika called out a reporter for assuming that her husband, Ranveer Singh, was also a producer of Chhapaak alongside her. She responded with amusement, saying:“Excuse me, yeh mere khud ke paise hain. Kisne bola yeh? (Who said this to you? This is my money.) Excuse me, it is my own money.”

Tamannaah clarifies `like` on Deepika video

While many interpreted Tamannaah’s ‘like’ as a show of solidarity, the actress later clarified that it was a technical glitch. She shared a selfie on her Instagram Story, rolling her eyes, and wrote:

“Can Instagram pls figure out how it likes pages on its own, cause random people are making it news and I have work to do.”

Though she didn’t mention the Deepika video specifically, the post was seen as a response to the speculation.

Deepika Padukone and Sandeep Reddy Vanga controversy

Deepika Padukone reportedly walked out of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s upcoming film Spirit, starring Prabhas. Initial reports claimed that she left after the filmmaker did not agree to her demands for an eight-hour work shift and a share of profits as part of her fee. Later, it was speculated that she exited the project due to the presence of bold scenes in the script.

Following this, Vanga took to social media and indirectly slammed a certain actor for leaking the storyline of his film. While he didn’t name anyone, netizens were quick to assume he was referring to Deepika Padukone.
