Suniel Shetty calls granddaughter Evaarah ‘Athiya 2.0’; reveals he wants to experience with her all that he missed out on with his kids: ‘I was constantly working’ | Bollywood News

While many of his contemporaries are going all out to find their voice in the evolving cinema landscape and fit in somehow, Suniel Shetty is busy with the real-life role of “nana” (maternal grandfather) that he took on recently. After his daughter Athiya Shetty and husband, Indian cricketer KL Rahul, welcomed a baby girl last month, Suniel and family are on cloud nine, soaking in the experience of raising a little one all over again.

Mentioning that he and his wife, Mana Shetty, had been fancying having a grandchild for quite some time now, Suniel recently attested that being in her presence is the best feeling in the world. Dubbing it as a “feeling of bliss”, the actor also maintained that he had never experienced something bigger or better than being nana to Evaarah.

Sharing that, even at the peak of his career, returning home after hectic schedules filled him with immense joy, Suniel Shetty maintained that the excitement factor has only increased since they welcomed Evaarah into their lives. “Now I want to do everything with my granddaughter that I probably missed out on with Athiya and my son Ahan because I was constantly working. Evaarah is Athiya 2.0 for me,” he said during a chat with Times of India.

The actor is currently busy filming for the much-anticipated Priyadarshan directorial Hera Pheri 3, which will mark his reunion with Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal. In the movie, all three of them will reprise their respective roles from the comedy blockbuster Hera Pheri (2000) and its sequel Phir Hera Pheri (2006). Opining that only they are equipped to play these characters, Suniel also stated that besides their looks and get-ups, nothing has changed between them in the past 25 years. Last seen in Nadaaniyan, Suniel Shetty also has the much-hyped Welcome To The Jungle in the pipeline.
