Sub Registrar Office Locked
Hyderabad, July 7: In a bizarre but revealing incident, the Sub Registrar Office of Abdullahpurmet in Telangana’s Rangareddy district was locked by the building owner on Monday after officials allegedly failed to pay rent for over two years.
The office, which operates out of a rented building, had reportedly defaulted on rent payments since 2022. Despite multiple reminders, the building owner claims no action was taken by authorities to clear the dues, prompting him to take the drastic step of locking the premises.
With the office now inaccessible, registration services have come to a complete halt, leaving many citizens who had arrived for property-related documentation and transactions stranded and frustrated.
“I came here for land registration but was told to return as the office is locked. This is extremely unprofessional and inconvenient,” said a disappointed visitor.
The incident has drawn criticism from the public, highlighting the negligence of government departments in maintaining basic administrative obligations. There has been no official response yet from the Stamps and Registration Department regarding the delay in payment or plans for restoring services.
Local residents and affected citizens have urged the government to resolve the matter at the earliest to prevent further disruption to crucial land and property transactions.
