SpiceJet Flight to Hyderabad Returns to Chennai Due to Technical Snag | Passengers Delayed

SpiceJet Flight

Hyderabad: A SpiceJet flight en route to Hyderabad had to return to Chennai Airport on Thursday after experiencing a technical snag shortly after takeoff. The incident left passengers stranded inside the aircraft for more than two hours, raising concerns over airline maintenance protocols.

According to initial reports, the pilots detected a technical issue mid-air and decided to take precautionary measures by rerouting the flight back to Chennai. Ground staff and technical teams immediately began inspections upon the aircraft’s return.

This incident comes on the heels of another alarming development involving SpiceJet. On Wednesday, a window frame on a different SpiceJet flight—from Goa to Pune—was reported to have dislodged mid-air. Fortunately, there were no injuries or safety risks to passengers. The airline stated that the loose window frame was a “cosmetic interior component” and was repaired upon arrival in Pune as per standard maintenance procedures.

“A cosmetic (interior) window frame on one of the Q400 Aircraft became loose during flight and was found dislodged,” the airline clarified in a public statement.

The two incidents have sparked discussions around airline safety and maintenance oversight. No official word has been released yet on whether passengers on the Hyderabad-bound flight will receive any compensation or alternate travel arrangements.

Passengers expressed frustration over the prolonged delay and lack of communication from the airline during the ordeal. Authorities have not yet commented on whether a formal investigation will be conducted.
