Sooryavanshi, Mardaani Actor Ashish Warang Passes Away at 55

Actor Ashish Warang, known for playing Ashish Tambe in Akshay Kumar’s film Sooryavanshi, passed away on Friday, September 5. He breathed his last at the age of 55 at his residence in Vartak Nagar, Thane. His demise has left the Marathi and Hindi film industry mourning.

As per My Pune Pulse, the actor had been unwell for quite some time and recovered from jaundice in December. A sudden illness led to his demise. However, the official cause of his death is yet to be confirmed.

He worked in several popular Hindi films, including Mardaani, Circus, Simmba, Ek Villain Returns and Drishyam, among others. He also worked extensively in Marathi television serials and advertisements. Projects like Dharmaveer and Tandav added to the breadth of his work.
He had collaborated with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, Ranveer Singh, Rohit Shetty, Akshay Kumar, Ashutosh Rana and John Abraham. He would often share glimpses of his personal and professional life on his social media handle.

Warang was last seen in the film Bombay, directed by Sanjay Niranjan. It is said to be India’s first film shot in four different languages – Hindi, Marathi, Kannada and Telugu.

Netizens took to social media to pay tributes as soon as the news of his death broke. One independent filmmaker wrote, “Shocked to hear about the passing of actor Ashish Warang today. I had the privilege of working with him. May his soul find peace and his work live on in the memories he helped create.
