Sonu Sood reflects on wife Sonali’s car crash, stresses the importance of wearing seat belts: ‘Happened just a minute after they all buckled up’ | Bollywood News

A fortnight after his wife, Sonali Sood, and two of their relatives were injured in a road accident, actor Sonu Sood has stepped forward to share an “important” message, urging everyone to wear seat belts when riding in cars, even when sitting in the rear seats. Stating that his family was saved because all of them had worn seat belts during that ride, Sonu requested that everyone make it a habit and not just a gimmick to evade police fines.

In a video message shared on social media, Sonu said: “Last week, there was a major accident in Nagpur. My wife, her sister and nephew were inside the car that got into the accident, and the whole world later saw the condition of the car. If someone saved them, it was the seat belt. Those sitting in the back seat often don’t wear it. That day, Sunita (Sonali’s sister) was sitting in the back seat, and my wife Sonali told her to wear the seat belt immediately. She put it on, and just a minute later, the accident occurred. All three of them were safe because they had worn seat belts.”

He continued: “Out of 100 people, 99 per cent of those sitting in the back seat never wear seat belts, thinking it’s only the responsibility of the people in the front. I request all of you not to sit in a car without a seatbelt. Many drivers wear seat belts just to show the police, without fastening them properly. But trust me, seat belts ensure your and your family’s protection.”

Sonu concluded the video message by stating: “Seat belt nahin, toh aapka parivaar nahin (no seat belt, no family).”

The accident, in which Sonali Sood and two of her relatives were injured, occurred on March 25 while they were travelling to Byramji Town from the Nagpur airport. It is reported that the car rammed into a truck from behind on the Wardha Road Viaduct bridge near Sonegaon. They were admitted to a private hospital in Nagpur, where the three underwent treatment. Sonali was discharged on March 29.
