Snapchat Introduces Lens+ Subscription with Hundreds of AR Lenses

Snapchat has introduced a new Snapchat+ subscription dubbed “Lens+”. The social networking giant’s latest subscription provides users access to hundreds of exclusive Lenses and AR (augmented reality) experiences. By launching the new subscription, Snapchat is aiming to grow its revenue by locking advanced experiences behind a paywall.

Snapchat’s Lens+ subscription users can use hundreds of exclusive lenses

In a blog post, Snapchat has announced that more than 15 million users have subscribed to Snapchat+, its paid tier that provides access to early and exclusive functionalities. Now, the company has introduced the Snapchat Lens+ subscription, which offers users access to hundreds of Lenses and AR experiences, which let them “play, create, and share Snaps” with friends in new ways.

Snapchat’s new subscription provides users access to exclusive new AI video Lenses, a new Bitmoji Game Lens, and more. Furthermore, the social media giant plans to offer new AR experiences every week to subscribers of the Lens+ subscription. The company has also clarified that it won’t charge for any Lenses that were earlier available for free in its smartphone app and website.

Snapchat’s latest Lens+ subscription will cost $8.99 per month. It includes all the perks unlocked with the regular $3.99 per month Snapchat+ tier. It’s worth adding that the company also provides a $14.99/month Platinum Snapchat+ subscription with all the Lens+ perks, completely ad-free. This subscription plan gained new AI-generated video lenses earlier in March.

Lens creators will soon be able to monetize exclusive Lenses

In the same blog post, Snapchat has announced that it’ll allow some Lens creators to monetize their exclusive Lenses in the coming months. With this move, the company is providing creators a new way to earn revenue on the social networking platform.

Unfortunately, the brand hasn’t yet revealed anything about how the revenue split would work for the exclusive Lens creators under the new monetization plan.
