Sikandar box office collection day 6: Salman Khan-starrer has been struggling at the box office ever since its release almost a week ago. While Salman’s fans wait for his films with a lot of anticipation, Sikandar did not meet their expectations and they made it known quite evidently. Even after six days in the theatres, the film is yet to reach the Rs 100 crore mark. The makers’ strategy of releasing the film on Sunday to co-incide with the holiday of Eid seemed to have failed. Also, since the film has received disastrous reviews, and has gotten negative feedback on social media, the collections haven’t benefitted from the fans’ response. On its sixth day, the film has earned just Rs 3.75 crore, according to early estimates by industry tracker, Sacnilk, taking the film’s nett domestic total to Rs 94 crore.
The number of shows of Sikandar have also been reduced. While it started with over 8000 shows, it has now dropped down to around 6200 shows. In Mumbai, the film had over 1300 shows at the time of release, but now, it has reduced to around 820 shows. In Delhi-NCR region too, almost 300 shows have been dropped since release.
While the film is still Rs 6 crore short from crossing Rs 100 crore mark in India, it has earned Rs 169.78 crore worldwide, according to the film’s production house Nadiadwala Grandson. On Friday, the makers took to their official X handle to share their five day collection. While Sacnilk reported the film’s India earning as Rs 6 crore on day 5, the makers claimed it has earned Rs 8.28 crore. However, in comparison, Sikandar is doing better than Salman Khan’s previous flop Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, which earned just Rs 90 crore in seven days.
