Looks like Shah Rukh Khan and Aryan Khan know how to take a joke, especially when it’s about themselves. At the premiere of Aryan Khan’s directorial debut The Ba***ds of Bollywood, Samay Raina, a comedian who was also invited, showed up wearing a T-shirt with the bold slogan, “Say No To Cruise,” cheekily referencing Aryan Khan’s 2021 arrest in the NCB cruise case.
Instead of being offended, both Shah Rukh and Aryan broke into laughter, setting the tone for an unexpectedly lighthearted moment at the event. According to actor Raghav Juyal, who stars in Aryan’s show, “Everyone was laughing — Aryan too! He was totally cool about it. Even Shah Rukh sir couldn’t stop smiling. That’s the kind of energy they bring — they can laugh at themselves.”
Raghav recalled how Aryan handled the situation with ease. “He’s got a calm, confident vibe. There was no awkwardness at all — just laughs and good energy,” he said, adding that the entire premiere felt more like a fun reunion than a high-pressure event.
Interestingly, Aryan himself had already hinted at a sense of humour about his past. In one scene from The Ba***ds of Bollywood, a character resembling the NCB officer who arrested him in 2021 is seen detaining a movie star at a party without evidence, a tongue-in-cheek nod that hasn’t gone unnoticed by fans.
Even Shah Rukh’s reaction spoke volumes. “For him, everyone’s like family. He treats everyone with warmth — that’s why no one felt uncomfortable, not even for a second,” Raghav shared in his chat with Ranveer Allahbadia.
Meanwhile, the series has found itself in the spotlight, with former NCB officer Sameer Wankhede filing a defamation suit against Shah Rukh’s production house, Red Chillies Entertainment, and Netflix, alleging a “misleading portrayal.”
