The fourth and final report in the Tanisha Bhise death case was submitted by Sassoon General Hospital to the state health department and Alankar police station.
The report, prepared by a six -member committee set up at the government-run Sassoon Hospital, follows three reports already submitted to the government — from the State Health Department, Pune Charity Commissioner and the Maternal and Child Death Department of the Pune Municipal Corporation.
“We have submitted our report,” Dr Yellappa Jadhav, medical superintendent at Sassoon General Hospital said. Tanisha, who was in her thirties, had delivered twins at Surya Hospital in Wakad on March 29, and died at Manipal Hospital, Baner, two days later. Her family and BJP MLC Amit Gorkhe alleged that she was earlier denied admission at Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital as she could not pay an advance deposit of Rs 10 lakh. Tanisha’s husband, Sushant, is Gorkhe’s secretary.
“The process of registering a case against Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital will be carried out as per the recommendations and directions given in the reports,” Rupali Chakankar, Chairperson of Maharashtra State Women’s Commission had said at a media conference in Pune.
