Samsung’s Wild Tri-Fold Phone Just Leaked — Titanium, No UDC, Snapdragon SoC & More

Samsung’s Wild Tri-Fold Phone Just Leaked — Titanium, No UDC, Snapdragon SoC & More

Some new information regarding Samsung’s upcoming tri-fold smartphone has surfaced. This will be the company’s first tri-fold, by the way, and a tipster shared some camera, build, SoC, and RAM information with everyone.

The information comes from PandaFlashPro, a tipster, as he shared the information via X. He claims that the information he shares has been “confirmed”, as in one of his sources has confirmed it.

Samsung’s first tri-fold phone will utilize titanium, a Snapdragon chip & more

The company’s first tri-fold handset will not have an under-display camera. That’s not surprising at all as the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is ditching it as well. Several previous Galaxy Z Fold generations had it on the main display.

Furthermore, the tipster claims that this tri-fold phone will have “better durability” thanks to a combination of titanium and aluminum. It will be fueled by a Snapdragon chip, and a Snapdragon chip only. There won’t be a second SoC variant.

If we had to guess, we’d say that the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy will fuel the device. That tri-fold phone is expected to arrive at some point this year, seemingly before the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 becomes a thing. We’ll see, though, who knows.

It will offer 16GB of RAM and a higher-density battery

It was also said that the phone will include 16GB of RAM. We’re probably looking at LPDDR5X RAM here, and this will be the only RAM option for that phone.

The tipster also mentioned that he “received disappointing battery capacity information”, but that he’s waiting for confirmation. That kind of points to a regular battery, not a silicon-carbon one. He did note that the phone will have a higher-density battery, though.

This smartphone almost certainly won’t launch at Samsung’s upcoming event on July 9. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 will arrive, though. The company could tease its tri-fold phone there, and even reveal some information.

The thing is, the company’s first tri-fold device is rumored to launch in Korea and China only. We may not even see its global launch.
