Samsung’s Ultra-Thin Galaxy S25 Edge Will Finally be Available on May 13

Samsung’s Ultra-Thin Galaxy S25 Edge Will Finally be Available on May 13

Earlier this week, we had heard that the Galaxy S25 Edge had been delayed, after it was originally scheduled for April 15. Now, SamMobile is reporting that the launch will happen on May 13. This information is coming from Max Jambor who has been very accurate when it comes to leaks in the past, but we still urge you to take this with a grain of salt until Samsung officially announces it.

Samsung isn’t expected to launch this at a big Unpacked event like the rest of the Galaxy S25 series. Instead, it’s likely to be an online-only event, though, as SamMobile points out, this could vary by country. The report also cites European pricing for the Galaxy S25 Edge, starting at €1,249. That would be about €100 more than the Galaxy S25+. In the US, that likely means the Galaxy S25 Edge will be over $1,000 unless Samsung decides to do some heavy subsidies to get this into more hands.

This super-thin phone is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite

Despite teasing this at Unpacked in January, and showing it last month at Mobile World Congress, Samsung hasn’t really shared any details about the Galaxy S25 Edge. However, we do expect it to sport a 6.7-inch display, meaning it would be the same size as the Galaxy S25 Plus but thinner. It would also have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite inside, with 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of storage. Samsung will also sell it in at least three colors. These include Titanium Silver, Titanium Jetblack and Titanium Icyblue, which are a few of the Galaxy S25 Ultra colors.

While we don’t know the reason for the delay, and Samsung will not say why since the device never had an announced launch date. It does seem like the reason is due to the recent changes in leadership at Samsung. You might recall, Samsung’s DX head Jong-Hee Han recently passed away unexpectedly, which forced Samsung to make some changes quickly to its leadership. And that could have delayed the Galaxy S25 Edge.
