Samsung’s 2025 OLED lineup makes lag a thing of the past

Samsung’s 2025 OLED lineup makes lag a thing of the past

Samsung OLED TVs are some of the best on the market for everyone from movie buffs to gamers, and now gamers are going to have one more reason to consider an OLED model from Samsung, thanks to the inclusion of NVIDIA G-Sync. NVIDIA G-Sync is not a new technology, and you’ll find it in many of today’s gaming monitors, but it’s less common on TVs.

If you’re unfamiliar with NVIDIA G-Sync, it’s a technology that NVIDIA developed to help reduce latency and match the frame rate of a display to the gaming hardware. It was originally developed for monitors and gaming PC use, designed to match the frame rate of the monitor to the GPU inside the PC. Thus leading to lower latency and a smoother picture in games. In some cases, this can create screen tearing, depending on the game and the hardware involved, and depending on what settings you apply in-game. For the most part, though, it’s a nifty feature. Especially if you fine-tune your settings for the hardware you have. Now that it’s started making its way to TVs, it’s becoming more common with newer models. And that’s good news for console gamers. As well as PC gamers who use a TV for their monitor.

NVIDIA G-Sync will be available on all 2025 Samsung OLED TV models

Samsung has officially confirmed that all 2025 OLED TV models will be compatible with NVIDIA G-Sync. For Samsung enthusiasts, this means you won’t have to stress as much about which TV to buy. At least not because you’re worried if the TV you pick has this advanced feature.

Of course, not all games will support NVIDIA G-Sync. Those that don’t, however, may support AMD FreeSync. Luckily, Samsung confirms that the 2025 OLED TV lineup will support AMD FreeSync as well. In short, you should be able to experience reduced latency and smoother overall gameplay regardless.

The feature will roll out first to the Samsung S95F OLED

There is one caveat to Samsung’s announcement. Not all 2025 OLED TVs will have NVIDIA G-Sync right away. The feature will roll out first to the Samsung S95F OLED. It’s still coming to all other 2025 OLED models, just at a later date.

Unfortunately, Samsung doesn’t mention specific dates for the other models. Just that it will “subsequently roll out to additional models in the 2025 lineup.” That means if you want to have it right away, you’ll need to go with the S95F if you’re upgrading to a new OLED TV from Samsung.

In addition to the NVIDIA G-Sync compatibility, Samsung’s latest TVs come with Motion Xcelerator technology, a feature that allows the TVs to support refresh rates up to 165Hz. So even without the G-Sync feature available on some of the other 2025 models, gameplay should still look pretty smooth.
