We’ve compared the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge to quite a few devices thus far. This time around, we’ll be comparing it to one of Apple’s best phones. It’s not the latest-gen flagship, but close to it. In other words, we’ll be comparing the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge vs Apple iPhone 15 Pro. These two smartphones don’t really have a lot in common, which should make the comparison even more interesting.
As per usual, we’ll first list the specifications of both smartphones. Following that, we’ll compare their designs, displays, performance, battery life, cameras, and audio output. There is a lot to talk about here, that’s for sure. One phone is large and extremely thin, while the other is compact and… well, it looks different. Let’s get to it, shall we?

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge vs Apple iPhone 15 Pro: Design
Both of these smartphones are made out of metal and glass. In fact, both of them use titanium for their frames, and glass on the back. The glass backplates are different, but they’re both flat, as are the displays. The frame on both smartphones is flat too, all around. The iPhone 15 Pro’s corners are more rounded in comparison, though. The Galaxy S25 Edge has a centered display camera hole up top. The iPhone 15 Pro has a pill-shaped cutout in that same spot, the so-called Dynamic Island.
The bezels around the display on both of these phones are thin and uniform. The ones on the Galaxy S25 Edge are thinner in comparison, though. The power/lock and volume up and down buttons sit on the right-hand side of the Galaxy S25 Edge. The iPhone 15 Pro includes a power/lock key on the right, while its volume keys are on the left, along with the Action key, which replaced the mute switch.
If we flip them around, you’ll notice that their camera islands are in the same spot, but have different sizes. The Galaxy S25 Edge has two vertically-aligned cameras, while the iPhone 15 Pro includes three cameras with a rather familiar alignment (for an iPhone). Both camera islands to protrude on the back. Both of these phones are also quite slippery and come with an IP68 certification for water and dust resistance.
The Galaxy S25 Edge is considerably taller and wider than the iPhone 15 Pro. It has a considerably larger display. That phone is also notably thinner at 5.8mm, compared to 8.3mm of the iPhone 15 Pro. Apple’s handset is also quite thin, but Samsung was aiming at extreme thinness with the Galaxy S25 Edge.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge vs Apple iPhone 15 Pro: Display
Samsung’s handset features a 6.7-inch QHD+ (3120 x 1440) Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. That panel is flat, and it supports HDR10+ content. It has an adaptive refresh rate (1-120Hz). The screen-to-body ratio here is around 92%, while the display aspect ratio is 19.5:9. The Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 is placed on top of the display in order to protect it.
The Apple iPhone 15 Pro, on the other hand, includes a 6.1-inch 2556 x 1179 display. That is an LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED display. It is flat, and it supports an adaptive refresh rate (1-120Hz). HDR10 content and Dolby Vision are supported, while the peak brightness this display offers is 2,000 nits. The screen-to-body ratio is at around 88%, while the Ceramic Shield glass protects this panel.
Both of these displays are excellent, actually. They are not only very vivid, but have great viewing angles too. The blacks are as deep as you’d expect them to be, while the touch response is good too. Both displays do get bright enough, even though they’re not the brightest around. The panel on the Galaxy S25 Edge does get brighter, though. Neither phone supports high-frequency PWM dimming, though.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge vs Apple iPhone 15 Pro: Performance
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor. That is the overclocked variant of Qualcomm’s most powerful chip, a 3nm processor. It is paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage. The iPhone 15 Pro is fueled by the Apple A17 Pro, a 3nm processor. That chip is paired with 8GB of RAM inside of this phone, along with NVMe flash storage. Neither phone supports storage expansion, by the way.
The Apple A17 Pro inside the iPhone 15 Pro is a bit older, but both chips are immensely powerful. Both of these smartphones deliver very smooth performance day in day out. There’s really nothing to complain in that regard. They’re very snappy regardless of what you’re doing, ranging from opening and closing apps and multitasking to consuming multimedia and taking pictures.
Yes, they can also run very demanding games, if that’s what you want them to do. Graphically non-demanding games are not an issue whatsoever, and neither are truly demanding titles. Do note that both phones do get quite warm if you’re playing demanding games. The Galaxy S25 Edge does emit more heat in such situations, so keep that in mind. It is not the best choice for gaming, that’s for sure.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge vs Apple iPhone 15 Pro: Battery
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge features a 3,900mAh battery on the inside. The iPhone 15 Pro, on the flip side, comes with a 3,274mAh unit. Apple’s iPhones usually have much smaller batteries than their Android counterparts. The iPhone 15 Pro is a lot smaller than the Galaxy S25 Edge, and its battery is not smaller, but not as much as you’d think. Samsung purposely used a rather tiny battery inside the Galaxy S25 Edge to keep it so thin. Things would be different if the company opted for a silicon-carbon battery, but it didn’t.
That, unfortunately, does result in rather questionable battery life on the Galaxy S25 Edge. If you’re a power user, you will be charging this phone a lot sooner than you think. The battery life is nowhere near as good as what the iPhone 15 Pro offers. Don’t expect to get high screen-on times on the Galaxy S25 Edge. That would be less of a problem if the phone offered extremely fast charging, but it doesn’t.
The Galaxy S25 Edge supports 25W wired and 15W wireless (Qi2 Ready) charging. The iPhone 15 Pro, on the other hand, supports 23W wired, 15W MagSafe wireless, and 7.5W Qi wireless charging. The Galaxy S25 Edge can fully charge in about an hour and 5 minutes, while the iPhone 15 Pro can do the same in about an hour and a half. Well, a bit over an hour and a half. Neither smartphone comes with a charger included in the box, unfortunately.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge vs Apple iPhone 15 Pro: Cameras
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge features two cameras on the back. A 200-megapixel main camera (1/1.3-inch sensor size) is the main unit, while it’s backed by a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera (1/2.55-inch sensor size). The iPhone 15 Pro, on the flip side, has three cameras on the back. A 48-megapixel main camera (1/1.28-inch sensor size) is backed by a 12-megapixel ultrawide unit (1/2.55-inch sensor size, 120-degree FoV) and a 12-megapixel telephoto unit (1/3.5-inch sensor size, 3x optical zoom).
Both of these phones do a really good job in terms of camera performance. Neither is the best out there, not even close, but both will be more than enough for almost anyone. The main cameras manage to capture plenty of detail both in good light and low light, though they offer different outputs. The Galaxy S25 Edge does tend to provide a bit more saturated images, while both are quite reliable.
Ultrawide cameras are on the same level when compared, but they’re a level or two below the main units. That is to be expected considering the hardware. You may want to stick with the main cameras in low light. The iPhone 15 Pro is easily the better camera when it comes to high-zoom shots. The Galaxy S25 Edge doesn’t have a telephoto camera at all. Do note that the iPhone 15 Pro doesn’t have a great telephoto unit, though.
Audio
Both of these smartphones come with stereo speakers. In fact, those two speakers are basically on the same level. That goes for both loudness and sound quality. They’re good, but inferior to many other speakers on flagship phones.
Neither phone includes an audio jack, unfortunately. You can use their Type-C ports to connect your wired headphones, though. Alternatively, the Galaxy S25 Edge supports Bluetooth 5.4, while the iPhone 15 Pro supports Bluetooth 5.3.
