Sikandar movie review, rating and release live updates: AR Murugadoss directorial Sikander, starring Salman Khan in the lead role, has finally hit theatres on March 30, a day ahead of Eid ul-fitr. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the action-packed film also features Rashmika Mandanna, along with Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, Sharman Joshi, and Prateik Babbar in key roles. The hype surrounding Sikandar has been massive, thanks to Salman’s tradition of releasing his films during the Eid festival. This marks his first major release since Tiger 3 in 2023, making it all the more special for fans.
Early estimates indicate that Sikandar has already sold around 2.2 lakh tickets in the Hindi region alone, raking in approximately Rs 6.46 crore. Factoring in blocked seats, the film’s total pre-release earnings have touched Rs 13.53 crore. With over 8,000 shows in Hindi across India, Sikandar is set for a strong opening on Sunday.
Sikandar will clash with Mohanlal’s Empuraan at the box office. Talking about the clash, Salman said, “This is the Mohanlal film? I love him as an actor. And Prithviraj (Sukumaran) is directing it? I think it’s an excellent film. It’s going to be a very good film.”
He quipped, “I request all MNCs to increase salaries this month and pay bonuses so that people can watch Empuraan, Sikander, and Jaat, which is also releasing soon (April 10).”
Interestingly, Sikandar marks Salman Khan’s first collaboration with director AR Murugadoss. The film will showcase Salman in his signature action avatar. In a recent interview, when asked whether performing action sequences has become more challenging with age, Salman remarked, “Every bone in my body has been broken twice or thrice. Every ligament has been torn at least two to three times.”
