
The recent Ahmedabad plane crash incident has shocked the entire nation, with everyone praying for the victims. An Air India flight on its way to London crashed just minutes after its takeoff near Meghaninagar area in Ahmedabad. The flight reportedly had over 200 passengers on board. The rescue operations are currently underway. Soon after the news of the crash broke, several notable personalities expressed their grief and shock over the incident. And now, Bollywood celebrities have decided to cancel their planned events for the day to stand in solidarity with the victims of the crash.
Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar cancel event
Superstar Salman Khan, the new face of the Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL), was scheduled to attend a press meet on Thursday in Mumbai. Similarly, he was also supposed to attend the meeting with Veer Patel and Ishan Lokhande, the co-founders of ISRL. However, after receiving the news of the plane crash, the actor and the team have decided to cancel the event and the meeting. The team addressed the press and conveyed their decision to cancel the event.

They also issued a press note which read, “As we all have just heard the tragic incident that has taken place today. Indian Supercross Racing League and Mr. Salman Khan stand by the Nation United in this tough time. All our condolences and prayers are with the affected families. Jointly, we have made a responsible decision to reschedule this event to a further date.”
Similarly, Akshay Kumar and Vishnu Manchu have also taken a collective decision to cancel the trailer launch event of their upcoming film Kannappa, which was scheduled to be held in Indore. The decision comes following the tragic Air India crash in Ahmedabad.
Sources close to the team said, “As a mark of respect for the lives lost, the team has also chosen to defer the trailer release by a day. The focus remains on standing in solidarity with the grieving families during this difficult time.”
Additionally, Netflix has also cancelled the media event and press conference for Rana Naidu Season 2 that was scheduled for today. They issued a statement which said, “In light of the tragic news concerning the Air India flight, and in solidarity with the families of those impacted, we have made a decision to cancel today’s fan and media event of Rana Naidu Season 2. Our hopes and prayers are with the families of those affected by this devastating news.”

Earlier today, an Air India plane from Ahmedabad to London with 242 passengers crashed in the Meghaninagar area near Ahmedabad airport on Thursday. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation said that a team has been rushed to the spot for investigation. Air India on Thursday confirmed that flight AI171 with a destination to Gatwick in London, was involved in an accident today after take-off from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

“Air India confirms that flight AI171, from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick, was involved in an accident today after take-off. The flight, which departed from Ahmedabad at 1338 hours, was carrying 242 passengers and crew members on board the Boeing 787-8 aircraft. Of these, 169 are Indian nationals, 53 are British nationals, 1 Canadian national and 7 Portuguese nationals. The injured are being taken to the nearest hospitals. We have also set up a dedicated passenger hotline number, 1800 5691 444, to provide more information. Air India is giving its full cooperation to the authorities investigating this incident,” the Airline said
The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad, is currently not operational, and all flight operations are temporarily suspended until further notice, the airport said.
