
The District Magistrate of Kamjong in Manipur on Wednesday imposed restrictions in two villages following an arson attack by unidentified armed people. Police said there was no information on any casualty in the incident.
Official sources said the arson attack occurred in Gampal and Haiyang villages under the Sahamphung sub-division in Kamjong district around 9 AM. Police said the villages are located around 50 km east from Kamjong district headquarters, near the Indo-Myanmar border.
The District Magistrate ordered restrictions, prohibiting the movement of residents of the affected villages until further order. “A significant risk to law and order and may disrupt peace and public tranquility in the area,” the order said.
