Reservoirs at more than half of their capacity, says Gujarat minister, assures sufficient water supply | Ahmedabad News

The 207 water reservoirs in Gujarat are at more than 57% of their total storage capacity, Water Resources Minister Kunvarji Bavaliya said on Monday while assuring that people will be provided sufficient water during the summer season.

An official release stated that in 2024, water storage in the 207 reservoirs around this time of the year was at 50.84%. Quoting Bavaliya, the release further said that Sardar Sarovar Dam, which is considered as the lifeline of Gujarat, has 61.95% water of its total storage capacity.

According to the release, “During summer, in the rural and urban areas of Gujarat, sufficient water will be provided to the citizens as per the requirement.”
