The IPL 2025 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has been called off due to rain at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
This IPL 2025 washout game helped RCB to move up to the points table with 17 points. A win in today`s match would have sealed a spot in the playoffs for the Rajat Patidar-led side. A victory in either of the remaining two matches will help RCB seal their place in the playoffs.

From KKR`s perspective, the slim chances they had for sealing their place in the final have now ended. Now, with just one game left in the group stage for the Ajinkya Rahane-led Kolkata, they can maximum make their tally 14, which will not be enough to make it to the playoffs. With the game against RCB being called off, KKR has now been officially eliminated from the playoffs race.
Following the Test retirement of stalwart Virat Kohli, his and RCB fans made an effort to wear white jerseys with the 36-year-old`s name on their back. But the effort of the fans went in vain as the rain played spoilsport.
RCB will clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their upcoming IPL 2025 match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on May 23. They will then conclude their group stage matches with a game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium B Ground on May 27.
On the other hand, KKR will face SRH in their last group stage match, scheduled to be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on May 25.
On May 18, the IPL 2025 is all set to host two highly anticipated matches. The first match will be played between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium at 3.30 pm. The evening blockbuster match is scheduled between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium at 7.30 pm.
