In her recent interview while promoting her upcoming film, The Girlfriend, the actress addressed the growing discussion around implementing an 8-hour workday on film sets. Rashmika described overworking as highly unsustainable, emphasizing that actors and crew members need to prioritize their physical and mental well-being.
“We often forget that our bodies and minds have limits. Rest is as important as hard work,” she stated, adding that continuous long shifts could lead to burnout and reduced creativity. The actress also admitted that she herself tends to overwork, often pushing her limits out of a sense of responsibility towards her team. Rashmika rooted for a more balanced schedule across the industry, typically like the one that resembles the structured 9-to-6 work model followed in most professions. “I truly believe fixed hours would help everyone, from actors to technicians,” the actress added.
