Priyansh Arya leaves Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer behind in IPL elite list

Priyansh Arya continues to justify his billing as one of Punjab Kings` most exciting acquisitions, as the dynamic Delhi batter further elevated his growing reputation with another explosive performance.

Having already announced himself with a breathtaking century earlier in the IPL 2025 season, Arya has consistently dominated proceedings at the top of the order for PBKS.

In the ongoing clash against Kolkata Knight Riders, Arya, alongside fellow opener Prabhsimran Singh, unleashed a brutal assault on the KKR bowling attack. Arya dazzled with a scintillating 69 off just 35 deliveries, striking at an impressive 197.14, peppering the boundaries with eight fours and clearing the ropes four times. His fearless intent and authoritative strokeplay left the Knight Riders’ bowlers searching for answers.

After more than half the season, Arya proudly boasts the highest strike rate by an Indian batter in IPL 2025 (minimum 200 runs), surpassing even his captain Shreyas Iyer, who follows with a formidable strike rate of 184.02. In the overall standings, only LSG’s Nicholas Pooran sits ahead with an astonishing strike rate of 204.89.

Arya and Prabhsimran forged a dominant 120-run partnership for the opening wicket, providing PBKS with the ideal platform to post a mammoth total. Prabhsimran was equally destructive, smashing 83 off 49 balls in a masterclass of aggressive yet calculated batting.
