After the success of Munjya, the makers are preparing to return with Munjya 2. The first film, starring Abhay Verma and Sharvari, surprised audiences with its mix of horror, comedy, and folklore, and also became a major box office hit. With the sequel now in the works, a new addition to the cast has caught everyone’s attention.

According to reports, Laapataa Ladies actress Pratibha Ranta has been roped in to play a major role in Munjya 2. Since the news broke, many assumed she would be replacing Sharvari as the female lead. However, sources have clarified that this is not the case. Instead, Pratibha’s character will reportedly add a fresh angle to the story, possibly with a new arc or a unique connection to the events of the first film.

Sharvari and Abhay Verma are still part of the project, though their roles in the sequel are expected to be limited to brief appearances. This will allow the spotlight to shift to Pratibha, who has earned praise for her strong performance in Laapataa Ladies and is now set to headline a horror-comedy for the first time.

Munjya 2 is expected to go on floors by the end of 2025, though the makers have not yet shared an official announcement. The team is reportedly working on building a script that expands the eerie yet humorous world introduced in the first movie.

The original Munjya featured memorable performances from Mona Singh, Bhagyashree Limaye, and Suhas Joshi, alongside the leads. It connected well with younger audiences thanks to its quirky take on folklore and managed to cross ₹100 crore at the box office. Naturally, expectations for the sequel are high, with fans eager to see how the makers continue the story.

With Pratibha Ranta stepping into the world of Munjya 2, the franchise is set to bring new faces, fresh energy, and more chills mixed with laughter. If the success of the first film is any indication, the sequel could once again strike gold at the box office.
