The Borivali Police have arrested a 28-year-old man from Karnataka for allegedly creating a fake Instagram account and posting obscene videos of a woman without her consent, causing her humiliation and mental trauma.

“The recent incident took place on September 25, 2025, when the complainant was at her Borivali residence. The accused, under the fake Instagram handle, uploaded obscene videos of the woman without her permission, allegedly with the intention of tarnishing her reputation.
Despite repeated warnings from the victim, Pawan continued to stalk and harass her online. A case was immediately registered under IPC Sections 78, 75(2), 356(2), and IT Act Sections 66(E), 67 at Borivali Police Station.
“Under the guidance of senior police inspector Madhusudan, police inspector Milind Nagpure, along with a dedicated team including PSI Premanand Tikam, PC Santosh Desai, and PC Aniket Lagas, using technical surveillance, tracked the accused from his hometown in Bellary, Karnataka. The accused was later caught at his maternal uncle`s home, where he confessed to the crime during questioning. He was subsequently placed under formal arrest,” said an officer from Borivali police station.
Police investigations revealed that Pawan was already booked in another case for similar offences with the same woman but was out on bail. Shockingly, despite being under legal scrutiny, he repeated the crime. He further told the police that he was in a one-sided love affair with the woman and wanted to marry her. The complainant refused his proposal, and despite several warnings, the accused was constantly harassing her, the officer added.
