Pfizer’s Dr Seema Pai appointed as head of Indian Society for Clinical Research

The Indian Society for Clinical Research (ISCR) has appointed Dr Seema Pai as its President from 2025 to 2028. Dr Pai will succeed Dr Sanish Davis, who was President from 2021 to 2025.

The association also appointed Anirban Roychowdhury as Honorary General Secretary, and  Amita Bhave as Treasurer for the new term.

As ISCR celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, Dr Pai said, “India has made remarkable strides in clinical research, from late-phase trials in the early 2000s to pioneering innovations like indigenous CAR-T cell therapy currently in 2025. Our focus on quality, speed, and ethics has earned global trust, leading to transformative work and advancements in clinical trials. Moving forward, ISCR remains committed to patient centricity, regulatory excellence, and fostering collaborations that drive clinical research in India.”

Dr Pai has over 20 years of experience in clinical research and currently leads Pfizer’s global site study operations for the India cluster (India, South Africa & Sub-Saharan Africa).

Outgoing President Dr Sanish Davis said the last four years saw the strengthening of India’s clinical research ecosystem, and ISCR played its role in advancing regulatory frameworks to foster collaboration across industry and academia.
