PBKS vs DC, IPL 2025: Faf du Plessis wins toss, Delhi Capitals opt to bowl

In the ongoing IPL 2025 match against Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals captain Faf du Plessis has won the toss and elected to bowl first at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

The match will be important from Punjab`s perspective as the side will look to secure the top-two spots in the IPL 2025 playoffs.

Skipper Axar Patel missed Delhi`s previous clash against Mumbai Indians due to bad flu. In his absence, star batsman Faf du Plessis led the side. Axar will also not feature in today`s match as it is assumed that he is out due to sickness.

So far in IPL history, both teams have clashed against each other on 34 occasions, out of which Punjab leads the chart with 17 victories. On the other hand, Delhi has come victorious on 16 occasions. One match between the teams ended in no result.

Today, it will be interesting to see if Delhiites equal the record or the Kings take an edge in the rivalry.

PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer will be in focus during the match. This season, the right-hander also became the first-ever captain to lead three franchises in the playoffs. Previously, the 30-year-old led Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals to the playoffs.

With impressive captaincy skills, Iyer has also delivered performances with the willow this year. Featuring in 12 IPL 2025 matches, the right-hander has garnered 345 runs, including four half-centuries. He missed a well-deserved century by just three runs during the match against Gujarat Titans. Shreyas played an unbeaten knock of 97 runs off just 42 deliveries, including five boundaries and nine maximums.
